What Successful People Do…

In today’s post, I wanted to share some insights about what separates successful people from unsuccessful people.   Many articles and books have been written on this topic by many knowledgeable people.   And I do not presume to know all they know.   But I have learned one thing that I consider to be an immutable law of success:

“Successful people do what unsuccessful people won’t do!”

I’ll say it again, “Successful people do what unsuccessful people won’t do!”

What are some things that successful people do?

  • Follow up with contacts, meetings, phone calls, emails.   There is a saying that the fortune is in the follow-up.   Successful people are follow-up fiends.
  • Research their business niche.   Before ever starting a business venture, a successful person will thoroughly research the business segment they are considering entering.   They will generate a list of advantages and disadvantages, then weight them against each other.   They will ask,”What added value can I bring to this market?” and “What need can I fulfill?”
  • Embrace their competition.  There is a another saying that there is no such thing as a competitor, just someone who doesn’t realize that they are a partner yet.   Successful people will often joint venture with their competition.

These nuggets are just the tip of the iceberg.  Think like the successful person you are and ask yourself, “What am I not doing now that I could be doing that would take my business to the next level?”  Who knows what it is you are will to do that others won’t that will carry you on to success.
